Palm City is located just to the west of Stuart across the St. Lucie River, and is primarily a residential area with luxury waterfront homes, gated golf club communities and equestrian ranches in the western section referred to as Palm City Farms.

Palm City’s location offers easy access north and south via I-95 and the Florida Turnpike which has made it an attractive community for people who commute to work in northern Palm Beach and St Lucie Counties.
It is just a short drive from Palm City to downtown Stuart and the Atlantic Ocean beaches in Stuart, Jensen Beach and Hobe Sound.
There are several marinas in the area where boaters are within easy distance to the Indian River and St Lucie inlet for superior fishing and boating activities. The St. Lucie River is the entrance to the Okeechobee Waterway that leads to Lake Okeechobee and across the State to the Gulf coast.
Leighton Park, built in 2004-05 in Palm City includes a pavilion, sport fields, playground and a skate park. Team sports include lacrosse, baseball and soccer. The park is located on the corner of Mapp Road and 36thStreet.
