Hutchinson Island is a barrier island on the east coast of Florida stretching from the St Lucie inlet in Martin County on the south end up to St Lucie County at the Fort Pierce Inlet on the north end.
The southern end of Hutchinson Island is in Martin County. It is easily distinguished due to the 3 story height limit in Martin County. Hutchinson island real estate has a mix of luxury homes on the river and on the ocean,

The middle portion of the island is part of the town of Jensen Beach. The eastern edge of Hutchinson island is lined with condominiums with a few single family home communities interspersed. The western side also has a mix of condos and single family home communities. In addition, along A1A there are several hotels and waterfront restaurants and more shopping.
